The Frank Cosca Group was selected by the Board of Trustees on May 14 to aid the selection process for a new superintendent.

Provide your input as to what makes a good superintendent. Input from the community is requested. Three meetings have been scheduled to solicit input:

Date:Thursday May 29, 2008
Time:7:00 pm
Location:Ocean Air Elementary School MUR (map)

Date:Monday June 2, 2008
Time:9:30 am Location:Ashey Falls Elementary School MUR (map)

Date:Monday June 2, 2008
Time:7:00 pm Location:Del Mar Hills Elementary School MUR (map)

During each meeting, the consultants will provide an overview of the process, and then ask three primary questions:

  1. What do you see as the strengths of the district?
  2. What do you see as the critical issues/needs facing the district?
  3. What are the desirable characteristics for the next superintendent?

The Board is committed to obtaining input from all interested stakeholders. Over the next few weeks, numerous meetings will be held across the district with interested stakeholders, including teachers, parents, PTA leaders, Foundation Board members, classified employees and administrators.

The consultants will provide the Board with a report containing all comments. This information will be used by the Board to prioritize the lists of strengths, needs/critical issues, and characteristics. The consultants will then create a candidate profile and brochure to advertise the position.

If you are unable to attend one of the community meetings you may download the written input form and mail to:
